you never know what you will find at the grocery store....

Sam has wanted a kitty for a long time, especially since we came back from Grammy & Grandpa Tom's house in Texas. We've mostly just put it off thinking maybe someday.

Someday was yesterday when Brandon went to the store to get a few things for the BBQ and came home with not one, but two 6 week old kittens. I have a very sweet & soft hearted husband who couldn't bear to break the siblings up. Needless to say Samantha is in heaven, albeit with scratches all over her arms and hands from trying to hold the kitties more than they would like her too. :-)

Sam really wants the kitties to sleep w/ her so the first thing she did was try to put them in her bed.

One kitty is mostly white w/ a gray tail & ear; the other is white w/ black ears, tail, spots down his back and one black ankle. Sam named the black/wht one "Marty" after the zebra in "Madagascar" the movie. He is the most adventerous & vocal of the two. The white one we named Daisy.
Here they are sleeping behind the dryer. Its their "we're scared" hideout. So cute!!!

Happy July 4th!

Happy 4th! We had great weather and a great day. Our first BBQ in our backyard, family & neighbors came over, had our own little fireworks display & enjoyed watching the nieghbors "not so legal but very cool" fireworks as well.

Classic Sam pics

Since I seem to be on the "update quarterly" blog schedule, here are a few pics of Sam from the last few months that have given us some laughs.

Summer Days

We finally bought Samantha a little pool to keep cool in this summer. she was pretty excited to get home and get it filled up with nice cool water.....

...and this is us in her playhouse waiting for the rain to stop. Yes, that's right, it started to rain just as we finished filling up the pool. Thunder & lighting show included. (we did go into the house once that show started) She has yet to get back in, although it has entertained other kids in the neighborhood.
