Snow Day!!!

We woke up this morning to quite the snow storm. The storm appears to have hit primarily the southwestern Salt Lake valley and south of Salt Lake.
We did not even attempt to go to Stake Conference this afternoon because of all the snow on the streets, and the neighboring Stake (the next block over) canceled church for the day.
The wind was blowing so much that it is hard to tell just how much snow we got, but I would estimate between 14 to 18 inches! There was 2 feet plus at each end of the drive way. I have included some pictures below.

There were places along the house and side fence that the snow was piled in drifts of 4' plus.

Here is Kara with a pile of snow behind her. We actually added to that pile after taking the picture.

Check out how tall this pile of snow is!

Here is the snow piled against the house. Take note of this picture and compair it to the picture below. The one below was taken earlier in the week...before this mornings storm.

Sam is so helpful. We did not let her help with the storm this morning. We were afraid we would lose her in one of the piles.

We are supposed to be getting more snow later today and into Monday morning! Hopefully this next round will pass right on by the Herriman area.

We are excited to see you've joined the blogging phenomenon. It gets so hard to keep in touch, so this is a nice way to do it I guess! Samantha is so grown up and such a cutie!! We're so sorry we weren't able to make it to her party, but it looks like it was a big success! Good luck with the next storm!!!

Man alove I thought we had a lot to shovel here. I am not sad that I didn't have to join in the shovel out there. For some reason we seem to miss the main path of the storms! Though we get a layer of ice now that we are not use to! We are ready for Spring!
